Finance and Grants Manager Job at World Vision International Uganda
World Vision International Uganda is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Finance and Grants Manager to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all financial management and compliance for grants, ensuring our programmes deliver maximum impact for the children and communities of Uganda.
In this critical role, you will ensure strict adherence to donor regulations (including UN and USAID), organisational policies, and Ugandan financial laws. You will be a key leader in our finance department, contributing directly to the transparency and effectiveness of our humanitarian and development work across the country.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee comprehensive financial management, budgeting, and forecasting for all grants and projects.
- Ensure full compliance with donor financial rules and regulations, preparing and submitting timely and accurate financial reports.
- Lead the entire grant management cycle, from proposal budgeting to financial closure and audit.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the primary finance focal point for donors and partners.
- Build the capacity of the finance team through mentorship, training, and supportive supervision.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and systems to safeguard organisational assets.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and advice to programme managers and senior leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be a qualified CPA or ACCA holder.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and grants management within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
- Proven, in-depth knowledge of major donor requirements, specifically UN agencies, USAID, and other institutional donors.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing and developing a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to accountability.
