Job Responsibilities

As a Finance and Administration Assistant, you will provide crucial support to ensure efficient financial and administrative operations. Your key duties will include:

  • Processing and verifying payments, expense reports, and financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Maintaining organised and up-to-date financial records, files, and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and supporting documents.
  • Supporting procurement activities, including raising purchase requisitions and following up with suppliers.
  • Managing office supplies, inventory, and basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
  • Preparing monthly financial reports and reconciliations as directed by the finance officer.
  • Ensuring compliance with World Vision's financial policies, donor requirements, and Ugandan regulations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this finance and administration role, you should possess:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in finance, accounting, or administration roles, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Practical knowledge of accounting software (such as SunSystems, QuickBooks, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • High integrity and commitment to World Vision's core values and mission.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects and familiarity with Ugandan tax regulations will be an added advantage.
