Job Responsibilities

As a Finance Analyst at Old Mutual Uganda, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial planning and decision-making processes. Your key duties will include:

  • Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
  • Analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assisting with the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities for the Ugandan operations
  • Collaborating with various departments to gather financial information and provide insights
  • Ensuring compliance with Ugandan accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to process improvements within the finance department

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this Finance Analyst position in Kampala, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised Ugandan or international university
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably within Uganda's financial services, banking, or insurance sector
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA will be an added advantage
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software systems
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and financial regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet tight deadlines
