Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading manufacturer in Uganda's construction industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dynamic team in Kampala. As an Electrical Foreman, you will play a critical role in overseeing electrical maintenance, installations, and repairs within our cement manufacturing plant. You will ensure all electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Ugandan standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of electricians and technicians in daily electrical operations.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of plant electrical systems, including motors, switchgear, control panels, and power distribution networks.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) regulations and company safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Manage inventory of electrical spare parts and tools.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure your team adheres to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
• Prepare maintenance reports and documentation for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in Uganda.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and instrumentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is an added advantage.
