Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading manufacturer in Uganda's construction industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to oversee electrical operations and contribute to our commitment to quality and safety.

As an Electrical Foreman at Hima Cement, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our electrical systems. You will be responsible for supervising electrical maintenance teams, ensuring all work complies with Ugandan safety standards and regulations, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues within our cement production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of electricians and technicians in daily electrical maintenance and repair tasks.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee electrical installations, inspections, and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Ensure all electrical work adheres to the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) regulations and company safety protocols.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in motors, control systems, PLCs, and power distribution networks.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise downtime and ensure efficient plant operations.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to team members.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience working with heavy industrial equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Ugandan electrical codes and safety standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is a strong advantage.
