Dispenser Job in Kololo, Kampala - C-Care Uganda

Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your work ensures patients receive the correct treatment and understand how to use their medications effectively.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescribed medications and other medical supplies.
• Maintain meticulous records of all dispensed drugs in accordance with hospital and national regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects to improve treatment adherence.
• Manage inventory levels in the dispensary, including stock-taking and reporting of near-expiry or low-stock items.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Handle customer inquiries with excellent communication skills and maintain a professional demeanour at all times.
• Ensure the dispensary area is clean, organised, and complies with all health and safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or in a similar pharmacy role is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient care.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Good knowledge of commonly prescribed drugs and medical supplies.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced hospital setting.
