Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare, document, and dispense drugs and medical supplies to hospital units and outpatients.
• Provide accurate and empathetic counselling to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Maintain proper records of drug inventories, prescriptions, and dispensed items in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ensure the dispensing area is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Participate in stock management, including ordering and verifying received pharmaceutical supplies.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all patient interactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• At least 1-2 years of experience working as a dispenser or in a similar role within a hospital or clinic setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to show empathy.
• Good knowledge of common medications, dosage calculations, and storage requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Computer literacy for documentation and inventory management.
