Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda in Mbale, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy services. Your primary responsibility will be to participate in the preparation, documentation, and accurate dispensing of drugs and medical supplies to various hospital units and directly to our clients. You will be a key point of contact for patients, requiring a professional demeanour, excellent communication skills, and empathy to ensure patients are properly counselled on their medication, thereby improving treatment adherence and health outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed items.
• Provide clear and empathetic counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Collaborate with other hospital units to ensure timely supply of necessary pharmaceuticals.
• Adhere to all standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain inventory levels and assist in stock management within the pharmacy.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a reputable institution.
• Must be registered with the relevant professional body in Uganda.
• Prior experience working as a dispenser or in a hospital pharmacy setting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Lumasaaba) is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
• A compassionate and patient-centred approach to service delivery.
