Job Description
Living Goods, a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to saving lives in communities across Africa, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Community Health Supervisor (ASC-LS Profile) for our operations in Kadiogo, Burkina Faso. This is a vital role for a public health professional passionate about improving community health outcomes through effective supervision and support of community health workers.
In this full-time position, you will play a key role in strengthening our community health programmes. You will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and supporting a network of community health workers (Agents de SantΓ© Communautaire - ASC) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, life-saving health services directly to households.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to a team of community health workers (ASC) in the Kadiogo area.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor service delivery, data quality, and adherence to health protocols.
- Support community health workers in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of common childhood illnesses and maternal health issues.
- Facilitate training sessions and continuous professional development for the health worker network.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection, reporting, and analysis of community health data.
- Collaborate with local health facilities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to strengthen the integrated community health system.
- Manage the distribution and logistics of essential health commodities and supplies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related field. A diploma with significant relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in community health, preferably in a supervisory or training capacity.
- Strong understanding of community-based health care models and the Burkina Faso health system context.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, reporting, and basic analysis.
- Fluency in French and the local language(s) of the Kadiogo region is essential.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and travel extensively within the assigned district (valid riding permit required).
