Job Description
Kakira Sugar Limited, Uganda's leading sugar manufacturer, is seeking qualified Civil Engineers to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects within our extensive operations.
Overall Purpose:
To design, plan, supervise, and execute civil engineering works and infrastructure projects including roads and drainage networks within the factory, estate, and wider outgrowers areas. You will ensure quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion in line with company standards and Ugandan regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and plan civil engineering projects including roads, drainage systems, and factory infrastructure
• Supervise construction and maintenance works across Kakira Sugar's extensive network
• Ensure all projects comply with Ugandan building codes and safety regulations
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively
• Coordinate with various departments and external stakeholders
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation
• Oversee road maintenance for estate and outgrowers networks
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution
• Registered with Uganda Engineers Registration Board
• Minimum 3 years' experience in civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan construction standards and regulations
• Proficiency in civil engineering software and design tools
• Excellent project management and supervision skills
• Valid driving permit (Class B)
