World Vision International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Coordinator to lead vital initiatives in Northern Uganda. This is a key role for a professional passionate about safeguarding children and promoting their rights in a post-conflict region. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate and implement comprehensive child protection programmes across Northern Uganda.
- Lead case management systems for vulnerable children, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Mobilise and build the capacity of communities, local partners, and staff on child protection standards and practices.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for staff, partners, and community volunteers.
- Advocate for child rights and protection policies at local and district levels.
- Prepare detailed reports, monitor programme impact, and ensure compliance with donor and organisational guidelines.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen child protection networks.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in child protection programming, preferably within Uganda or similar contexts.
- Demonstrated experience working in post-conflict or fragile settings, with an understanding of the Northern Uganda context.
- Strong skills in training, facilitation, and community mobilisation.
- Excellent reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak the local language (Acholi/Luo) is a strong asset.
- Commitment to World Vision's Christian values and ethos.
