Job Description & Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager at Old Mutual Uganda, you will be individually accountable for achieving significant business growth through strategic leadership. You will be responsible for developing new opportunities and leading a team to exceed targets.
- Business & Sales Growth: Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities aligned with company strategy. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the Ugandan market. Develop and execute robust business development plans to achieve and surpass growth targets.
- Market Leadership & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs within Uganda's financial landscape. Analyse competitor activities and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Team Leadership & Sales Management: Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve revenue objectives. Develop effective sales strategies, monitor team performance, and provide ongoing support and development.
- Product & Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure offerings meet local market demands. Provide critical customer feedback and represent Old Mutual at industry events, forums, and networking opportunities in Uganda.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services, insurance, or banking sector in Uganda.
- A strong track record of achieving and exceeding business growth and sales targets.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and people development skills.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to interpret market data and drive decision-making.
