Business Development Manager Career Opportunity at JCRC Uganda
The Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC), a leading health research institution in Uganda, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team at our Lubowa Estates headquarters. This is a senior managerial role where you will drive strategic growth and forge key partnerships to advance healthcare research and service delivery across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to expand JCRC's research portfolio and service offerings.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships with international donors, government agencies, and private sector players.
- Lead proposal writing and tender submissions for major health and research projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in Uganda's public health sector and the wider East African community.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities for clinical research and health programmes.
- Manage a team and collaborate with internal departments to align business development with operational capacity.
- Represent JCRC at national and international forums, conferences, and networking events.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or grants management, preferably within the healthcare, NGO, or research sector in Uganda.
- Demonstrated success in securing significant funding or managing large-scale projects.
- Excellent network within Uganda's health and development sector.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
