Equity Bank Uganda, a leading financial institution committed to transforming lives and giving dignity, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Mbarara branch operations. This is a senior leadership role for a banking professional ready to drive growth, ensure operational excellence, and deliver exceptional customer service in Western Uganda.

About the Role

As the Branch Manager in Mbarara, you will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and management of the branch. You will lead a dedicated team to achieve business targets, foster a customer-centric culture, and ensure strict adherence to banking regulations and internal policies. This role is pivotal in expanding Equity Bank's footprint and impact in the Mbarara community and the wider Western region.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of all branch operations and staff.
• Develop and execute business plans to drive deposit growth, loan portfolio expansion, and overall branch profitability.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction are maintained.
• Manage the branch budget, control costs, and conduct rigorous financial analysis.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the branch team to achieve individual and collective targets.
• Ensure full compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, corporate clients, and the local community.
• Implement marketing initiatives to promote the bank's products and services in the Mbarara area.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the banking sector in Uganda.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in a branch management or senior supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills.
• Excellent knowledge of banking products, financial analysis, and credit risk management.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet ambitious business targets.
