Associate Supply Officer Job at UNHCR Uganda - Kampala

UNHCR Uganda is seeking a dedicated Associate Supply Officer to join our team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to contribute to humanitarian work while developing their career with a leading UN agency.

About the Role:
The Associate Supply Officer will support all supply chain activities for UNHCR's operations in Uganda. You will play a key role in planning, sourcing, transportation, warehousing, and asset management to ensure efficient delivery of assistance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the management of the complete supply chain including planning, sourcing, transport, and warehousing
• Assist with customs clearance, shipping, and fleet management activities
• Coordinate delivery of assistance from regional warehouses when applicable
• Maintain ethical, impartial relations with suppliers and partner organisations
• Support identification, assessment, and selection of capable vendors
• Ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability in all supply chain processes
• Exchange information with counterparts in other UN agencies and international organisations
• Assist with joint procurement actions following UN/UNHCR rules
• Maintain regular contact with UNHCR supply teams and functional units

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in supply chain management
• Knowledge of UN/UNHCR procurement rules and regulations is an advantage
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of integrity and ethical standards
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is beneficial
