Area Leader - GTG Job at TotalEnergies EP Uganda | Oil & Gas Careers

TotalEnergies EP Uganda is seeking a qualified and experienced Area Leader - GTG (Gas to Grid) to join our dynamic team in Uganda's growing energy sector. This is a regular, full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the country's major energy infrastructure projects.

As the Area Leader - GTG, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the Gas to Grid component of our operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of project phases, from planning through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Lead and manage all GTG project activities within the designated area, ensuring alignment with TotalEnergies' global standards and Ugandan regulations.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including engineering teams, contractors, government bodies, and local communities.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress against key milestones.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies, promoting a culture of zero incidents.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Supervise and mentor a team of professionals, fostering skill development and high performance.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and partners.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained according to company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field). A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of proven experience in project management within the oil and gas industry, with specific exposure to gas processing or pipeline projects.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of international industry standards and Ugandan oil and gas regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Must be a proactive problem-solver with a strong results-oriented mindset.
