Treasury Supervisor Job in Kampala at Opportunity Bank Uganda

Opportunity Bank Uganda, a leading financial institution, is seeking a creative, agile, and results-driven Treasury Supervisor to join our dynamic team at the Head Office in Kampala. This is a senior-level role reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, offering a significant opportunity to shape the bank's investment and liquidity strategy.

Job Purpose:
To identify, evaluate, and manage investment and funding opportunities for the bank while ensuring accurate and timely regulatory and management reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Investment & Funding: Evaluate and manage the bank's investment portfolio and funding opportunities to maximise returns.
• Liquidity Management: Negotiate with banks and other entities for profitable investment of excess liquidity, ensuring compliance with Bank of Uganda (BOU) regulations. Manage branch liquidity and source low-cost funding.
• Forex Operations: Ensure profitable and efficient running of the bank's foreign exchange operations, with close monitoring of forex positions.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare, analyse, and submit accurate and timely reports to the Bank of Uganda (BOU), management, and other funders.
• Committee Role: Act as Secretary to the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO), providing critical information for strategic decision-making.
• Administration: Serve as the main contact for all treasury-related issues with other banks and financial institutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Commerce (BCOM), Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
• A professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA is a strong added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a finance or treasury department within a financial institution in Uganda.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral).
• Proficiency in computer applications and financial software.
