Credit Analyst Job at Equity Group Holdings in Kampala

Equity Group Holdings, a leading financial services provider in East Africa, is seeking a skilled and experienced Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Kampala. As a Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the bank's assets by thoroughly analysing credit applications and making informed recommendations. You will be at the heart of our lending decisions, ensuring responsible growth while maintaining portfolio quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of credit applications and financial statements from both individual and corporate clients.
• Perform comprehensive risk assessments and prepare clear, concise credit reports for decision-makers.
• Make well-reasoned recommendations for credit approval or decline based on sound financial principles.
• Monitor the performance of existing credit facilities and identify early warning signs.
• Ensure strict compliance with the bank's internal credit policies, the Bank of Uganda regulations, and all relevant financial laws.
• Collaborate with relationship managers and other departments to gather necessary client information.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in credit analysis, preferably within a commercial bank or financial institution in Uganda.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling, ratio analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
• In-depth knowledge of banking regulations in Uganda and modern credit risk management frameworks.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or ACIB will be a significant added advantage.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and excellent report-writing skills.
