Job Description

Technical Officer - Capacity Building & Sustainability Reporting Job at Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and dedicated Technical Officers to join our team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving sustainability reporting initiatives within Uganda's public finance management framework. Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor capacity building programmes for ministry staff and partner institutions.
  • Lead the design and execution of training workshops, seminars, and mentorship sessions on public finance management and sustainability reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive sustainability and performance reports in line with national and international standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to departmental teams on integrating sustainability principles into planning and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, and civil society, to align capacity building efforts with national development goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of capacity building interventions and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, manuals, and tools related to sustainability reporting and institutional development.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, institutional development, or sustainability reporting, preferably within the public sector or with development organisations in Uganda.
  • Strong understanding of Uganda's public financial management systems and national development planning frameworks (e.g., NDP III).
  • Excellent report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data management software.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
