Job Description

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and dedicated Technical Officers to join our team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving sustainability reporting initiatives within Uganda's public finance sector.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive capacity building programmes for ministry staff and stakeholders.
  • Lead the design and execution of training workshops, seminars, and mentorship programmes.
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data.
  • Prepare detailed sustainability reports in line with national and international frameworks.
  • Provide technical support to various departments on integrating sustainability into planning and economic development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of capacity building interventions and report on outcomes.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, development partners, and civil society on sustainability initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in capacity building, training, sustainability reporting, or a related field, preferably within the public sector or with development organisations in Uganda.
  • Strong understanding of Uganda's national development planning framework (e.g., NDP III) and sustainability principles.
  • Excellent report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
