Supply Chain Manager Job in Kampala - East Africa Operations at Diageo

Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise logistics, distribution, and supply chain operations across East Africa, with a primary focus on our Uganda operations. This is a senior leadership role based in Kampala, offering the opportunity to drive efficiency and excellence within a world-class FMCG environment.

About the Role:
As the Supply Chain Manager for East Africa, you will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring seamless operations from procurement to delivery. You will play a critical role in strengthening our distribution network within Uganda, managing a dedicated team, and ensuring all activities comply with local Ugandan regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimise the complete end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations for East Africa.
• Lead the strategic development and efficiency of distribution networks across Uganda.
• Ensure full compliance with all Ugandan logistics, customs, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and development for the supply chain team.
• Oversee inventory control, warehouse management, and stock optimisation initiatives.
• Utilise SAP or similar ERP systems to drive data-informed decisions and reporting.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and commercial teams to align supply with demand.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proven, strong knowledge of Ugandan logistics infrastructure, transport networks, and import/export procedures.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is essential.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive operational improvements.
