Short-Term Housekeeper Job in Garowe, Somalia - 5 Month Contract

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a dedicated and professional Housekeeper for a short-term, 5-month contract position based in Garowe, Somalia. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in designated facilities and accommodation areas
• Perform regular cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitisation of offices and residential spaces
• Manage laundry services including washing, ironing, and proper storage of linens and uniforms
• Ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies and report any maintenance requirements
• Adhere to ICRC safety protocols and hygiene standards in all cleaning operations
• Coordinate with administration team for special cleaning requirements and events

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of Secondary Education (UCE Certificate or equivalent)
• Proven experience in professional housekeeping, cleaning, or domestic services
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good physical fitness for performing cleaning duties
• Basic understanding of English and Somali languages is advantageous
• Willingness to work in a multicultural humanitarian environment
