Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily performance of MTN Uganda's core network infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor network systems using advanced tools to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues, minimising downtime and service impact.
• Plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and optimisation projects.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including configurations, procedures, and reports.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and services.
• Ensure network security and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network operations staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in network operations within a telecommunications or ISP environment.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) are highly preferred.
• Strong, practical knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and core technologies (routing, switching, firewalls).
• Proven experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
