NCBA Bank Uganda Limited, a leading financial institution in Uganda, is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Manager for Remedial Management to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level role within our Credit Risk Management department, focusing on managing and recovering non-performing assets to protect the bank's portfolio and ensure financial stability.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop and implement effective remedial management and recoveries strategies for the bank's credit portfolio.
• Lead the identification, monitoring, and management of high-risk and non-performing accounts.
• Oversee the end-to-end recoveries process, ensuring compliance with Ugandan banking regulations and internal policies.
• Manage a team of recovery specialists, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Analyse portfolio trends and provide detailed reports to senior management on the status of remedial accounts and recovery performance.
• Work closely with legal counsel and external agents to facilitate debt recovery through legal and other approved channels.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, to negotiate sustainable repayment plans.
• Continuously review and improve recovery processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the Ugandan market context.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in credit risk management, remedial management, or debt recovery within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda.
• Proven track record of successfully managing a recoveries portfolio and leading a team.
• In-depth knowledge of Ugandan banking laws, credit policies, and the legal framework for debt recovery.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills.
