Senior Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics) Job at Uganda Civil Aviation Authority in Entebbe

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics) to join our team in Entebbe. This is a senior-level role for a Ugandan professional with impeccable integrity, offering the opportunity to ensure the highest safety standards in Uganda's civil aviation sector, in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and surveillance of aircraft avionics systems to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.
• Review and approve maintenance data, modifications, and repairs related to aircraft avionics.
• Investigate reported defects and incidents involving aircraft electrical and instrument systems.
• Provide expert guidance and oversight to Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs) on avionics matters.
• Ensure all aviation activities under purview adhere to UCAA regulations and ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of national aviation safety policies.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must be a Ugandan citizen with a proven record of integrity and commitment.
• A Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Extensive professional experience in aircraft avionics maintenance, inspection, and certification.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO SARPs, Civil Aviation Regulations, and airworthiness procedures.
• Relevant professional certifications/licenses from a recognised aviation authority are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
