Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading building solutions company in Uganda, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dynamic team in Kampala. As an Electrical Foreman at Hima Cement, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing electrical maintenance and installation projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems, contributing directly to our production efficiency and commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of electricians and technicians on-site.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical maintenance schedules for plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical faults in industrial machinery.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with Ugandan safety standards and regulations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Manage inventory of electrical parts and tools.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, downtime, and project progress.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience working with heavy electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and variable speed drives.
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan electrical codes and workplace safety (OSH) standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driving permit (Class B) is an added advantage.
