Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement Limited in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading manufacturer of construction materials in Uganda, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dedicated team in Kampala. As an Electrical Foreman at Hima Cement, you will play a critical role in overseeing electrical maintenance, installations, and repairs within our plant operations. You will lead a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring all electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Ugandan standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electrical maintenance teams.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee electrical installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and system failures in industrial equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and Ugandan electrical codes.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Manage inventory of electrical parts, tools, and equipment.
• Train and mentor junior electricians and technicians.
• Prepare maintenance reports and documentation for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or a related industry.
• Valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Uganda is a strong advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and instrumentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety protocols and quality workmanship.
