Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading manufacturer in Uganda's construction industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to oversee electrical maintenance and installation operations within our cement production facility.

As an Electrical Foreman at Hima Cement, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical systems. You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate maintenance schedules, and implement safety protocols to support continuous production.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and lead a team of electrical technicians and artisans on daily maintenance and repair tasks.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant electrical equipment, including motors, switchgear, and control systems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with Ugandan safety standards, company policies, and best practices.
• Diagnose complex electrical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Manage inventory of electrical spares and tools, ensuring availability for critical repairs.
• Prepare maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation for management review.
• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks to promote a zero-accident culture on site.
• Collaborate with other engineering departments to support overall plant efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• A Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution in Uganda.
• A valid Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Supervisor from the Uganda Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience working with heavy industrial equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or cement plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
