Senior Airworthiness Inspector (Airframe & Powerplants) Job at Civil Aviation Authority Uganda in Entebbe

The Civil Aviation Authority Uganda (UCAA) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Airworthiness Inspector – Airframe & Powerplants (A & C) to join its regulatory team in Entebbe. This is a senior-level position for a Ugandan professional passionate about aviation safety and regulation, offering a chance to work at the heart of Uganda's civil aviation sector.

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority is the national body responsible for regulating civil aviation across Uganda. We manage Entebbe International Airport and thirteen other aerodromes nationwide, ensuring all operations meet the highest international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Conduct inspections and surveillance of aircraft maintenance organisations, air operators, and approved training organisations.
• Ensure compliance with national aviation regulations and ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
• Certify and monitor the airworthiness of aircraft, specifically focusing on airframe and powerplant systems.
• Review and approve maintenance programmes, manuals, and procedures.
• Investigate reported defects, incidents, and accidents related to aircraft maintenance.
• Provide expert technical advice and guidance to the aviation industry on airworthiness matters.
• Participate in the certification of aircraft, components, and maintenance facilities.

Qualifications & Experience Required:
• An Ordinary Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Must hold valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licences for both Airframe (Category A) and Powerplants (Category C).
• Considerable post-licencing experience in aircraft maintenance and inspection, preferably in a regulatory environment.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annexes and Ugandan Civil Aviation Regulations.
• Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
• A proven track record of impeccable integrity and professional commitment.
