Restoration Design Associate Job in Gulu, Uganda - Kijani Forestry

Kijani Forestry, a leading sustainable forestry company in Uganda, is seeking a dedicated Restoration Design Associate to join our team in Gulu. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable land management in Northern Uganda.

As a Restoration Design Associate, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing forest restoration projects that benefit local communities and ecosystems. You will work closely with our forestry experts to create sustainable designs that promote biodiversity and economic development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and plan forest restoration projects in Northern Uganda
• Conduct field assessments and collect ecological data
• Develop planting schemes and restoration methodologies
• Collaborate with local communities on sustainable forestry practices
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation
• Monitor and evaluate restoration project progress
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in forestry, restoration or environmental management
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan ecosystems and tree species
• Proficiency in GIS and mapping software
• Excellent communication and community engagement skills
• Ability to work in rural settings and conduct field work
• Valid motorcycle riding license preferred
