Exciting Project Coordinator Opportunity at Sightsavers Uganda
Sightsavers, an international non-governmental organisation working to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote disability rights, is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to join our team in Uganda. This is a fantastic opportunity for a development professional to contribute to meaningful projects that create lasting change in communities across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of Sightsavers' projects in Uganda, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and donor requirements
- Develop detailed project work plans and monitor progress against set targets and timelines
- Manage project budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring value for money and compliance with financial policies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive project reports for both internal stakeholders and external donors
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Ensure all project activities adhere to Sightsavers' safeguarding policies and promote inclusion
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in project coordination within the NGO sector in Uganda
- Proven experience managing donor-funded projects, preferably in health or disability inclusion
- Strong understanding of project cycle management and monitoring & evaluation frameworks
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Ability to travel frequently within Uganda to project sites
