This is a senior-level role where you will lead the design and implementation of transformative programs that directly contribute to Uganda's socioeconomic development.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Transaction & Enterprise Support Services, the Manager – Program Development will be responsible for leading the end-to-end process of creating and executing strategic programmes. Your work will align with UDB's core mission of fostering sustainable economic growth, industrialisation, and job creation across key sectors in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-impact strategic programmes.
• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify development gaps and opportunities within the Ugandan economy.
• Develop programme frameworks, proposals, and detailed implementation plans.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector partners, and development agencies.
• Monitor and evaluate programme performance, ensuring alignment with UDB's strategic objectives and development impact goals.
• Manage programme budgets, resources, and reporting requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the programme development team.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in programme development, project management, or strategic planning, preferably within a development finance, banking, or consultancy setting in Uganda.
• Proven track record of designing and managing large-scale, transformative programmes.
• Strong understanding of Uganda's socioeconomic landscape, development challenges, and key growth sectors (e.g., agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure).
• Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and report-writing skills.
• Outstanding leadership, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
