Lead Opportunity Bank Uganda as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

This is a senior executive role where you will provide strategic direction, drive sustainable growth, and champion our mission to transform lives through accessible financial services.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to ensure the Bank's growth, sustainability, and maximum impact.
• Develop and implement corporate policies and business strategies to increase the customer base and loan portfolio.
• Drive business development, customer centricity, and service excellence to maintain a competitive edge in Uganda's financial sector.
• Oversee risk management, ensure full regulatory compliance with Bank of Uganda standards, and uphold the highest levels of corporate governance.
• Build, inspire, and lead a high-performance management team, fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and employee retention.
• Act as the principal representative of the Bank with government agencies, investors, donors, strategic partners, and the media.
• Champion the Bank's core values and promote a culture of gender equity and social transformation.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, with at least 6 years at Board or Senior Management level in a Retail Bank or similar financial institution.
• Expansive knowledge of retail banking operations, microfinance products, Ugandan banking regulations, and compliance.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, business acumen, digital financial services, and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrable commitment to a mission-driven agenda and financial inclusion.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills with high emotional intelligence.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
