Professional Driver Jobs in Uganda at CRS (Catholic Relief Services)

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking experienced and reliable professional drivers to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled drivers to contribute to meaningful humanitarian and development work across Uganda.

About CRS Uganda:
CRS is an international non-governmental organisation supporting relief and development work in over 100 countries. In Uganda, CRS implements programmes in health, agriculture, emergency response, and youth development, making a tangible difference in communities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Safely operate CRS vehicles (cars, trucks, 4x4s) for staff travel, programme delivery, and supply transport.
• Ensure daily vehicle maintenance checks (oil, water, brakes, tyre pressure) and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks for all trips, including mileage and fuel consumption.
• Adhere strictly to CRS safety and security protocols, as well as Uganda's traffic laws and regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading of programme supplies and equipment.
• Ensure the vehicle is always clean and presentable.
• Provide reliable transportation for staff, visitors, and partners to various field locations.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid Ugandan Driving Permit (DL) for at least Class B. Classes CM & CH are a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO or in a similar fleet environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Uganda's road network, including upcountry and rural routes.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and travel to remote areas.
