Post Bus Driver Jobs in Kampala - 6 Positions at Posta Uganda

Posta Uganda, the national postal service, is seeking six (06) skilled and reliable Post Bus Drivers to join its team based at the General Post Office (GPO) in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital national service, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of mail, parcels, and passengers across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Safely operate Posta Uganda buses on designated routes.
• Ensure the secure and timely delivery of mail, parcels, and other postal items.
• Transport passengers courteously and professionally.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Adhere strictly to all Ugandan traffic laws and Posta Uganda safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and trip records.
• Report any vehicle faults or incidents promptly to the Post Bus Supervisor.
• Represent Posta Uganda with a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid Uganda Driving Permit with a DL class for buses.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a bus or heavy vehicle driver.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic offences.
• Certificate in Defensive Driving is a strong advantage.
• Good knowledge of Ugandan road networks, especially major routes.
• Excellent time management and reliability.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a presentable appearance.
• Ability to handle mail and parcels with care and confidentiality.
