Pharmacy Dispenser Job in Jinja - C-Care Uganda Hospital

Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda in Jinja, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare delivery system. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to various hospital units and directly to our patients. Your work ensures the right treatment reaches the right people, directly impacting patient health outcomes in the Jinja community.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed items in line with Ugandan pharmaceutical regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking and ordering, to prevent shortages or expiries.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and hygiene in the pharmacy.
• Promote patient adherence to treatment plans through effective communication and support.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a Ugandan institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
• Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of current Ugandan pharmaceutical practices and regulations.
