Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process laboratory samples for testing under supervision
• Assist with basic laboratory tests and procedures following established protocols
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper cleaning and sterilisation
• Record and organise test results accurately in laboratory information systems
• Manage laboratory inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
• Follow strict safety protocols and infection control measures in the lab
• Support senior laboratory staff with daily operational tasks
• Ensure proper labelling and storage of all laboratory specimens

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a laboratory setting (hospital experience preferred)
• Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and safety standards in Uganda
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
• Willingness to work flexible part-time hours as needed
