Compassion International, a leading Christian child development organisation, is seeking a dedicated Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to join their team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a vital role focused on measuring the impact and effectiveness of programmes that transform the lives of children in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems to track programme performance and impact.


• Develop clear indicators, logical frameworks, and data collection tools aligned with programme goals.


• Collect, manage, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from field operations across Uganda.


• Prepare detailed M&E reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, donors, and stakeholders.


• Provide evidence-based recommendations to programme teams for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.


• Build the capacity of local staff and church partners in basic M&E practices and data quality assurance.


• Ensure all M&E activities adhere to ethical standards and organisational policies.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognised university.


• Proven work experience (3+ years) in monitoring and evaluation within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.


• Strong expertise in M&E methodologies, logical framework analysis, and results-based management.


• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Excel) and data visualisation tools.


• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, faith-based environment.


• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local Ugandan languages is an added advantage.
