Lead Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for a Major Development Project in Uganda
FHI 360, a leading international non-profit organisation, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director for a key project in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will be responsible for driving evidence-based decision-making and ensuring project impact.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the design and implementation of the project's comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system and framework.
- Oversee all data collection, management, analysis, and reporting activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and enforce rigorous data quality assurance protocols.
- Facilitate learning, adaptation, and knowledge-sharing sessions with project staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality MEL reports for USAID and other key stakeholders, demonstrating project progress and outcomes.
- Build the capacity of project team members and local partners in MEL principles and practices.
- Manage the project's MEL budget and supervise the MEL team.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Master's degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in designing and managing MEL systems for large-scale development programmes, preferably in Uganda or the East African region.
- Demonstrated experience with USAID projects, reporting requirements, and indicators is essential.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for programme improvement.
