Join World Vision Uganda as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Mbale

Are you a skilled M&E professional passionate about using data to transform the lives of vulnerable children? World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to be based in our Mbale, Uganda office. This is a fixed-term contract position where you will play a critical role in ensuring our community development programmes achieve their intended impact.

With over 70 years of global experience, World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. Join our team of over 33,000 staff and contribute to meaningful change in Eastern Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans for regional programmes.
  • Lead the collection, verification, and analysis of high-quality programme data using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Prepare accurate and timely programme reports for management, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Build the capacity of staff and local partners in M&E principles, data collection, and utilisation.
  • Ensure M&E findings and data are actively used for programme decision-making, learning, and adaptive management.
  • Represent World Vision in regional M&E technical working groups and forums.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
  • Strong practical experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local context in Eastern Uganda and proficiency in relevant local language(s) is a distinct advantage.
