Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Gulu, Uganda - World Vision International

World Vision International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Gulu, Northern Uganda. This is a vital role for a development professional passionate about creating lasting change through robust data management and project impact assessment.

In this full-time position, you will oversee the monitoring and evaluation framework for key development projects in the Northern Uganda region. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate data collection, insightful analysis, and comprehensive reporting that demonstrates our impact and informs future programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and systems for development projects.
• Lead data collection activities, including planning field visits, surveys, and focus group discussions in project communities.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using advanced software to assess project performance and impact.
• Prepare high-quality, timely reports for internal stakeholders, donors, and partners, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Build the capacity of project staff and partners in M&E methodologies and data management practices.
• Ensure all M&E activities adhere to organisational standards and donor requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO or development sector in Uganda.
• High proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, or similar packages.
• Strong understanding of results-based management and logical framework approaches.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and engage with diverse communities in Northern Uganda.
