Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse security alerts from various systems to identify potential threats to the bank's information infrastructure
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on networks, systems, and applications
• Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
• Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions
• Collaborate with IT teams across the bank to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and update security documentation, including incident reports and risk assessments
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies relevant to Uganda's financial sector

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from a recognised Ugandan or international institution
• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or information security roles
• Practical knowledge of security tools and technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus solutions)
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and database security
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Professional certifications such as CEH, Security+, or CISSP will be a significant advantage
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
