Human Resources Coordinator Job at ME Uganda in Buliisa, Uganda
Job Description
ME Uganda, a leading construction and engineering company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Buliisa. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HR professional to contribute to a major infrastructure project in Uganda's oil and gas region.
As our Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department's daily operations and ensuring smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures. You will work closely with management and employees to foster a positive work environment that aligns with ME Uganda's values and operational goals in the Ugandan market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment processes including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding for new hires in Uganda
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases in compliance with Ugandan labour laws
- Assist with payroll preparation and administration for local and expatriate staff
- Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives
- Handle employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies
- Coordinate training programmes and staff welfare activities
- Prepare HR reports and documentation for management review
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in Uganda
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in the construction or engineering sector in Uganda
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., CHRP) is an added advantage
- Thorough knowledge of Ugandan employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software systems
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
