Housekeeper Job in Garowe, Somalia - 5 Month Contract with ICRC

About the Role

As a Housekeeper with the ICRC, you will play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and organised living and working environments for our staff. This position is crucial for supporting our humanitarian operations and ensuring the well-being of our team in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of assigned residential and office areas.
• Ensure all facilities are kept to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Manage laundry services, including washing, ironing, and proper storage of linens and uniforms.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and household items.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with the administration team for any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in professional housekeeping, preferably in an institutional or hospitality setting.
• Strong understanding of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
• Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to field conditions.
• Previous experience with international NGOs or humanitarian organisations is an advantage.
