World Vision International, a leading global humanitarian organisation, is hiring a dedicated Health and Nutrition Coordinator to be based in Mbale, Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity to coordinate critical health and nutrition programmes that improve the well-being of vulnerable communities.
About the Role:
As the Health and Nutrition Coordinator, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health and nutrition interventions in the Eastern region. You will work closely with district health teams, community stakeholders, and field staff to ensure programme quality and impact, directly contributing to World Vision's mission of building a better world for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall coordination, planning, and implementation of health and nutrition programmes in Eastern Uganda.
- Provide technical support, supervision, and capacity building to field teams and partner staff.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, district local governments, and other NGOs.
- Monitor programme activities, track indicators, and prepare comprehensive reports for donors and management.
- Ensure all health and nutrition interventions align with national policies, World Vision standards, and donor requirements.
- Manage programme budgets and resources effectively.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals and funding opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in health programme management, preferably within the Ugandan context or with an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO).
- In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan public health system, policies, and community-based health structures.
- Proven experience in stakeholder coordination, partnership building, and team leadership.
- Excellent report writing, data analysis, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to World Vision's Christian values and ethos.
