Head of Information Technology Job at NCBA Bank Uganda Limited in Kampala

NCBA Bank Uganda Limited, a leading financial institution, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Information Technology to join our leadership team in Kampala. This is a senior executive role responsible for driving our technology strategy, managing IT operations, and leading enterprise-level projects to support our digital transformation and business growth across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the bank's overall IT strategy, vision, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Lead and manage the IT operations team, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of all banking systems and infrastructure.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of major enterprise technology projects from conception to completion.
• Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and utilisation of technology resources.
• Ensure robust cybersecurity frameworks, data protection, and compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations and other relevant standards.
• Foster innovation by evaluating and integrating new technologies to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, PMP) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda or East Africa.
• Proven track record in strategic IT planning, project management, and managing large-scale technology implementations.
• In-depth knowledge of core banking systems, digital banking platforms, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for financial technology in Uganda.
