Head of Finance Job in Kampala - Uganda Breweries Limited (Diageo)

About the Role

As the Head of Finance for Uganda Breweries Limited, you will be a key strategic partner to the Managing Director and the senior leadership team. You will provide comprehensive financial leadership, ensuring sustainability, driving performance, and shaping the future of our business in Uganda. You will oversee all financial operations, from planning and reporting to treasury and compliance, making a tangible impact on our continued growth and success in the Ugandan market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies that align with UBL's business objectives and Diageo's global standards.
• Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting compliant with Diageo policies, IFRS, and Ugandan regulations (URA, etc.).
• Manage all treasury operations, cash flow, working capital, and optimise capital allocation.
• Oversee tax strategy, planning, and compliance with Ugandan tax laws.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support commercial decision-making and drive profitability.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team in Uganda.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
• Manage key stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally (banks, auditors, regulators).

Who We Are Looking For

• A fully qualified finance professional (ACCA, CPA(U), or equivalent is mandatory).
• Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, or a large multinational in Uganda.
• Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), reporting, treasury, and tax within the Ugandan context.
• Excellent leadership and people development skills, with a track record of building strong teams.
• Outstanding analytical, strategic thinking, and business partnering abilities.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage at executive and board levels.
• High integrity and a strong understanding of corporate governance and internal controls.
