Free Diver Job Vacancy (5 Positions) at Yalelo Uganda in Butembe-Buikwe

Yalelo Uganda, a leading aquaculture enterprise, is seeking five (5) skilled and physically fit Free Divers to join our dynamic team in Butembe-Buikwe. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work at the forefront of Uganda's growing aquaculture industry, directly contributing to sustainable fish farming practices on Lake Victoria.

As a Free Diver with Yalelo, you will play a crucial hands-on role in our daily cage operations. You will be responsible for underwater maintenance, inspections, and ensuring the health and security of our fish stocks. This position is ideal for individuals who are comfortable in aquatic environments and are looking for a unique and rewarding career path.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform daily free-diving tasks for the inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of aquaculture cages and nets.
• Monitor fish health, behaviour, and stock levels during underwater inspections.
• Assist with harvesting operations and other underwater farming activities.
• Follow strict safety protocols and procedures for all diving operations.
• Report any issues, damages, or irregularities observed during dives to the supervisor.
• Participate in general farm duties and team activities as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience and high proficiency in free diving; formal certification is a strong advantage.
• Excellent swimming skills and physical fitness, with the ability to work for extended periods in water.
• Knowledge of basic underwater maintenance and hand tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions precisely.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Prior experience in fishing or aquaculture is beneficial but not mandatory.
