Aquaculture Supervisor Job in Butembe-Buikwe, Uganda | Lake Operations

Yalelo Uganda, a leader in aquaculture and sustainable fish farming, is seeking a dedicated Aquaculture Supervisor to join our Lake Operations team in Butembe-Buikwe. This is a full-time, mid-level position where you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations on Lake Victoria, ensuring the highest standards of fish health, welfare, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily lake-based aquaculture operations and a team of farm attendants.
• Monitor fish health, feeding schedules, and water quality parameters.
• Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and biosecurity protocols.
• Maintain accurate production records and report on stock performance.
• Oversee the maintenance of cages, nets, and other lake-based equipment.
• Implement sustainable farming practices in line with Yalelo's environmental commitments.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in aquaculture or lake-based fish farming operations.
• Proven experience in team supervision and on-water operations.
• Strong understanding of fish biology and lake ecology, particularly of Lake Victoria.
• Ability to work in a remote lakeside location and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
