This is a senior-level opportunity for a finance professional to oversee and drive the financial strategy for our Ugandan operations.

About the Role

As the Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in steering the financial health and compliance of Diageo Uganda. You will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting business growth through insightful analysis and planning. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to make a significant impact within a multinational FMCG environment in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee all financial operations, accounting, and reporting for Diageo Uganda.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and growth.
• Ensure strict compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local Ugandan tax laws, and internal company policies.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and working capital effectively.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies in Uganda.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the local finance team.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and risk management frameworks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Full professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA (U), or CPA (K).
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a finance management role, preferably within the FMCG, manufacturing, or multinational sector in Uganda.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong experience with major financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent knowledge of Ugandan accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
